NO CRIB BUMPERS PLEASE!
Hats off to the city of Chicago for becoming the first US city to ban the sale of crib bumpers.
According to the new guidelines released by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
there is no evidence that bumpers protect baby from hitting his/her head on the crib or getting limbs stuck
between slats. Bumpers, however, do carry a potential risk of suffocation, strangulation, or entrapment because infants lack the motor skills and strength to turn their heads away from the bumpers.
